Joanne has remodeled her own property and acted as her own general contractor which she has turned into an asset in selling property. She has given clients insights to either appreciating remodeling that was completed or direction and tips on possibilities of improving a property.

Joanne also enjoys giving back some of what she has attained. Being a native San Franciscan, she cares about the city and the people in it. She has devoted time to the San Francisco Food Bank organizing holiday food drives to benefit seniors, people with AIDS, the homeless and others. For many years, she was an active member of the Fundraising Committee for Share Our Strength, Taste of the Nation, an annual event of which the proceeds go directly to organizations fighting hunger. Recently she has delivered food for Project Open Hand to people in need in the Tenderloin.
